The science
I didn't study any of this. I lived it first. The names came later.
In 2025, I started excavating my own history — not asking "what wounded me?" but "what prepared me?" A 1968 photograph of a 5-year-old boy with elephants on his wall. A cassette tape that survived 50 years. Objects that held meaning I couldn't see until I was ready.
Turns out, I wasn't the first to find this.
Emanuel Swedenborg called them "Remains" — gifts placed in childhood that activate when you need them. William James called it "radical empiricism" — trusting lived experience as valid data. Even Freud used the archaeology metaphor, though he dug for wounds. I dug for provisions.
I didn't know these names when I started. I found them after — in the patterns, in the timestamps, in 280+ documents that mapped where I'd already been.
