The Compression Curve
A documented finding inside Archaeological DNA™: the gap between when something is placed in a life and when its meaning becomes legible — the provision gap — shrinks the longer the practice runs.
In the early years of any life, the provision gaps are decades. A 1968 photograph reads as childhood, not as evidence, until the framework arrives forty years later.
Then the gaps shorten. A chapter dictated in 2025 surfaces a pattern that becomes a discovery document the same week. Then the gap shrinks again: a phrase arrives in a shower in June 2025 and is named as the ignition event within hours.
Across the recorded period of the founding body of work, the provision gaps measure from decades, to 97 days, to zero, to negative — when the framework recognizes the provision before the event it points to has occurred.
How to measure your own compression curve
1. Pick three provisions in your own life. (Photographs, phrases, dreams, objects.)
2. Date when each was placed.
3. Date when its meaning became legible to you.
4. The gap is the provision gap. Plot the gaps.
If the practice is operating, the gaps shrink over time. The compression is the receipt.
